This fact has been marked since antiquity by the three Spring Festivals at the time of the full moon. They provide us now with an opportunity to welcome the Aquarian energies of brotherhood and synthesis, which are slowly beginning to colour and transform our lives.
At the time of each full moon, it is as if a doorway is opened between the sun and the moon, heightening awareness. The moon is always there, but as it reflects more light at the time when it is full, humanity finds it easier to align itself with and assimilate the higher potency of energy. It is as if a pathway of light is opened between humanity and the spiritual forces watching over its destiny.
Occurring at the height of the spiritual year, the three Spring Festivals provide a unique opportunity for people to join together to invoke these forces in a dynamic way. Many people already meditate regularly to attract peace, light and love to the planet, and the cumulative effect is larger than the sum of the parts. Individually or in groups, they are applying the science of invocation through their meditation, and collectively setting up a magnetic field, which draws in and anchors these energies. Thus, by our conscious focus we can attract light, inspiration and spiritual healing in such a way as to effect positive changes in human consciousness.
The first festival of spring marks a process of rebirth and revitalization. It is celebrated at the full moon in Aries, after the vernal equinox, and usually occurs in April. In the Christian tradition, it is called Easter, the festival of resurrection. It celebrates the risen Christ, but resurrection implies more than the one-time arising from the grave of the physical body. In each minute of each hour, we have the possibility to be born anew, to let go of the past and move on. When old patterns of thought and emotion are discarded, when old habits and beliefs are outgrown and set aside, we are free to meet every new situation unconditionally. Higher energies rush in to fill the place of expectancy that we have created, and the inner light expands. We open to life more abundant and are made new.
The festival of Wesak occurs at the time of the full moon in Taurus, usually in May. In the East, it commemorates the enlightenment of the Buddha and is widely celebrated. Wesak marks the high-point in the spiritual year, for it is said that at this time each year, the Buddha returns to the physical plane for a brief moment, bringing an inflow of life and spiritual stimulation to vitalize all of humanity. Thousands of pilgrims gather every year in a remote valley in the Himalayas to re-enact an ancient sacred ceremony based on the legend of Wesak, which has to do with the sharing of the waters of life.
The festival of Goodwill at the time of the full moon in Gemini, usually in June, provides an opportunity for the energy received at the Wesak festival to be released and anchored within human consciousness. It releases an abundant tide of love for humanity to transform into and use as goodwill in establishing rightful world conditions. This festival is also called World Invocation Day, as it celebrates the collective aspiration of humanity to act in harmony with its highest spiritual goals.
The three full moon Festivals of Spring are destined to become a focal point in the Aquarian Age, as more and more people of goodwill come together to celebrate that "Humanity is One" despite religious or cultural differences. Even now, the festivals are being observed in mounting potency, as people hear of this unique way to serve the planet.
