Maitreya's Appearances

Maitreya has gradually made Himself known to hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world.  He appears to individuals as a vision, in the flesh, and in dreams.  He has appeared out of the blue and disappeared into thin air before huge crowds at prayer and healing meetings, and in specially convened gatherings of influential people, politicians, diplomats, member of royal houses and leading figures within the media world.

How can He be Recognized?

Certainly the 6,000 people who saw Maitreya in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1988, 10 years after He had arrived in London, knew instantly that the tall man in the white robes Who appeared out of nowhere, spoke to them, healed many, and disapeared again, was the Christ come again.

In his public lectures, books, and Share International magazine, Benjamin Creme has provided much information about the Lord Maitreya, including His physical appearance. He stresses that, while Maitreya can and does appear in any guise He chooses, sometimes a man, sometimes a woman, these are simply "familiars", the form in which He elects to appear at the moment. Readers may notice that, although at first glance differing widely, all photographs of Maitreya printed here share a subtle resemblance of quality and feature."

In May 1998, Andreas de Bruin, a German exchange student in Florence, Italy, took this image during a photo documentary assignment. "Suddenly I noticed the eyes of a little girl sitting on the ground at the side of the street.  Next to her probably her young mother, a beggar. Seeing both sitting on the street I thought: 'Look at the expression in the little girl's face, so much joy to live. She doesn't know she has probably no other chance than to end up like her mother. What a beauty and tragedy at the same time. We have to stop this poverty. This is important to document, this is what people should see and realize. "...As I touched the young girl and said how beautiful she was, an enormous feeling of love came over me. This feeling was so strong that I suddenly began to cry for a long period...

This experience I will never forget and it gives me a lot of strength: the feeling was so intensive."

Benjamin Creme confirmed that the woman was indeed Maitreya, and the little girl was the Master Jesus.

This experience, while seemingly rare, was captured once again by Michael Stöger in July, 2002, while traveling through Lisbon, Portugal on his return to Austria. As Michael recounts, "Our last stop before heading back to Austria was Lisbon in Portugal. There were many beggars on the streets."

But this was to be no ordinary stopover.

"When climbing up some steps I suddenly saw a young woman with a child in her arms, both sleeping on the floor, almost totally covered with their clothing. All you could see was a human bundle. I was immediately touched by the sense of pure and honest reality. I thought: 'This one really needs our help,' and put some money hidden by her side so that she might find it when waking up.

When passing the same place some 20 minutes later, both of them were awake and the mother turned towards me as if asking for something. I told her that I had already given some money while she was asleep.

I passed by but after a few steps it suddenly came to my mind: 'I have to take a picture of them.' So I turned back and asked the mother if she would allow me to take a photo. Very friendly and with an inviting gesture, she replied: 'Yes.' "

Once again, this image of mother and child was later confirmed by Benjamin Creme to be Maitreya and the Master Jesus. In each experience, the witness experienced a profound sense of connection to the mother and child accompanied by an outpouring of compassion for the plight of the poor and impoverished.

The variety of forms that Maitreya has taken appears limitless. In this next image, Maitreya appeared as a beggar in the New York library."This photograph was extracted from video footage taken in a New York library where Maitreya played the flute and allowed Himself to be filmed, by Cielito Pascual, in the guise of a homeless person."(See Share International, October 1998)

"Since Maitreya the World Teacher comes for all humanity, people of all faiths, and of no faith, here He makes a subtle connection with a previous manifestation through the disciple Krishna, 'the flute player.' " (Share International, Jul/Aug, 2002, p. 22)

In other instances, Maitreya may provide blessings to individuals through Benjamin Creme.

Benjamin Creme later confirmed that the
third figure was, indeed, Maitreya.

"At the beginning and end of every lecture Benjamin Creme is overshadowed by Maitreya for about 20 to 40 minutes. In this way Maitreya releases His energy to the audience as a special spiritual nourishment or blessing. Many people who have some degree of clairvoyance have seen this energy and commented on it, but until now we have not had a photograph of the event.

This photograph was taken on 26 September 2001 in Amsterdam, Holland, at Benjamin Creme's lecture, just as the overshadowing was starting.

When the photograph was developed, it was noticed that instead of two people on the platform, Mr Creme and his translator Gerard Aartsen, there were three figures. Mr Creme, wearing a jacket and tie, is facing the audience, whereas the mysterious figure is facing the camera and, incidentally, has no tie and the first few buttons of His tunic are open." (Share International, July/August, 2002, page 23)

While it is impossible to predict in what form Maitreya will appear, we can be assured that such appearances will continue up to and beyond the the impending stock market crash. At that time, Maitreya will appear to the world through a television interview on a major American network, speaking about the need for Justice and Sharing in the world. It is hoped that humanity will respond to His message and inaugurate the New Age of synthesis and Brotherhood.
